Since friday Youtube is no more accessible from Morocco using Maroc Telecom, this is not an error or a server problem since you can access it using a proxy server, it seems that Youtube have been censured joining the club with google earth, opendns and many other web sites, Morocco may also join the club of those countries that have already censured Youtube or other sites of information on the net citing from these countries are India, China, Indonisia, Tunisia, Thailande...
Speaking of Thailand the censure of Youtube was due to a video that the Thailand authorities viewed as offensive to the king, but this has proved to be wrong because it has created the opposite result, since that happend there were many more videos having "offensive" content on the same subject.
In Morocco anyway no body knows the reason behind this blocking, but whatever the reason it is sad to see such things in our country, freedom and share of information is essential to understand the other party that do not essentially agrees with your point of view, Morocco has made giant changes these last years in freedoms and socio-economic reforms its too bad to let these small things destroy all the efforts made.
Youtube is a high profile website and the news will be broadcasted everywhere tarnishing the image of a tolerant Morocco and causing a setback to the reforms that Morocco has been udergoing under the young and reformist king. I hope that there is a logic explanation to that because you still can access Youtube via the less popular operator "Wana".
Anyways, if you are in Morocco and using "Maroc Telecom" and you can't access Youtube click here for a proxy.
